Perfect Wedding Reception Venue
When looking for an appropriate venue for our wedding reception, we wanted somewhere our guests could be together and not go off to other areas in the venue.
After viewing a number of hotels, we were not entirely satisfied with what they were offering, but after our initial meeting with Paddy at Golf Links House and viewing the facilities it had to offer, we immediately knew it was the right place for us and our 70 guests.

Paddy was excellent from the initial meeting right through the whole process; he was able to provide advice and guidance on several aspects.
On our wedding day itself, when we arrived at Golf Links House, we were greeted by Paddy with champagne and upon arrival into the function room; we were over the moon with what we saw. The presentation of the function room was beautiful; the tables with the centre pieces and the fairy light backdrop provided the perfect setting for our wedding reception. Paddy was on hand to help with the speeches and was extremely attentive throughout the whole evening. The five course meal could only be described as superb.
Presentation was first class, portions were more than substantial and the waiting staff were most helpful to all our guests. The room was then turned around for our band to begin and again this was done very quickly. The evening buffet was great, platters being put on each of the tables is definitely a good way to do this as it saves interrupting the band or indeed the flow of the evening.
All our guests commented that the meal and setting for the reception was ideal, many were unsure what to expect when they heard the venue for our reception, however, all will now be recommending Golf Links House as a great place to have a wedding reception!
All in all, our experience of Golf Links House has been first class from beginning to end, and this is all down to Paddy. We know we would not have received anywhere near the same kind of experience, service or meal in a five star hotel!
Being a family run business, it has a great, friendly atmosphere where people feel very relaxed and comfortable.
In terms of value for money it is fantastic, with the wedding car and photographer being included, it certainly helps with what can only be described as an expensive day! Having Paddy on hand is great and we certainly felt our reception could not have gone any better. Golf Links House is in a convenient, private location, has ample parking and offers reduced accommodation rates for guests. Some of our guests availed of this and were also very impressed with breakfast the following morning. We will, as will many of our guests, certainly be returning to Golf Links House in the near future and it will definitely be top of our list to recommend to others looking for a wedding reception/private function venue.
